Cricket Australia and our entire indoor cricket community is in mourning today for former Australian Indoor Cricket Captain Greg ‘Snake’ Mathews who sadly passed away in recent days.
Having debuted for Western Australia at just sixteen years of age, ‘Snake’ went on to represent Australia in men’s indoor cricket. His stellar international career began at the 1990 Ashes series, and saw him represent his country at seven separate tournaments across the decade. He captained the side in 1994 and 1995, before finishing his international career as part of Australia’s successful 2000 World Cup campaign.
‘Snake’ will forever be remembered as one of the greatest to ever play the game, and he will be sadly missed.
